Postponed case of reign Omusoyisoyi: A battle of hate speech allegations

Postponed case of reign Omusoyisoyi

The hearing of Obedi Lubega, known as Reign Omusoyisoyi, on charges of hate speech has been postponed to December 18th due to the absence of his accusers in court. Reign was apprehended by security personnel under suspicion of involvement in mobilizing youths for the #March2Parliament demonstrations.

His arrest took place at his residence in Mutundwe, Rubaga South Division, leading to his temporary detention and subsequent release on bail.

Upon his return to court, Reign’s accusers failed to materialize, prompting the judge to reschedule the proceedings for December.

Lawyer Nalukoola, representing Reign, expressed determination to challenge the credibility of any future witnesses, emphasizing the futility of levying charges without substantiating them in court.

Reign expressed gratitude to Lawyer Nalukoola for his unwavering support, exuding confidence in their ability to prevail in the upcoming December hearing

Reign characterized the allegations against Omusoyisoyi as trivial, insinuating that the government’s actions stemmed from apprehension over his significant influence and following. He perceived the accusations as a preemptive measure driven by fear rather than genuine legal concerns.
